kettlebell training information for men

Men's Kettlebell Training

It is time to train like a man again and get back in touch with your primitive desire that has been locked away for years. A kettlebell is all that you need to build muscle density and strength as well as increase muscular endurance and lose fat. Kettlebells do not take up much space so you can train in your apartment, backyard or at the local park.

Improve your mind-body connection

Kettlebell training is a form of training that will not only improve the appearance of your physique, but will also improve your mind-body connection. Kettlebells are not the only way to train but it is simply a very effective way to train and it will enhance whatever training regime you are on.

Flexibility, mobility and stability

You can do standard weight training exercises with kettlebells such as: bench presses, curls, and rows. However, the unique value of kettlebells is derived from ballistic (fast exercise) work such as: snatches, swings, clean and jerks. With a proper nutritional plan any excess fat that you have will melt off rapidly. Ballistic exercises are not the only exercises that you can benefit from, kettlebell exercises such as the Turkish Get-Up, Bent Press, and Windmill will develop an extremely strong midsection and increase shoulder flexibility, mobility and stability. As a result many Physiotherapists and Chiropractors are now using kettlebells with their patients for the rehabilitation of rotator cuff injuries.

Functional training

If you are wanting to increase size and strength, try doing some of these fantastic kettlebell exercises: Double Clean and Press, Double Front Squat, Renegade Row, Double Swing, and the Double Clean. Yes, you could do all of the above exercises with dumbbells. But, anyone that has used both will tell you that kettlebells are much harder to handle and yes in this case, harder does mean better. Kettlebell handles are much thicker than dumbbells and will give you strong forearms as well as a vice like grip. Also, the off centered weight of a kettlebell will force you to use more stabilizer muscles and work the targeted muscles through a longer range of motion. For combat athletes and anyone else that likes it tough, the ballistic shock of kettlebells teaches you how to absorb shock efficiently which is critical for combat sports such as: wrestling, MMA, rugby and rugby league. A balanced kettlebell training program combined with consistency and a healthy nutrition plan is a sure-fire recipe for success.

The human body is the ultimate machine

I have been weight training for nearly 20 years and of that time I’ve spent the last 2 years learning this ancient art form and I can truly say that kettlebells are (in my opinion) by far the best all round training system. Our bodies work and function best as a unit so we should strive to train that way. The Human Body is the ultimate machine. Kettlebell training is"functional training " at it’s best. Once you have been infected with the power of kettlebell training, there is no going back.
